Visited Sushi Koto in Fountain Valley and had an amazing experience! The Hakodate don, tempura, and chicken karaage were all delicious. Each dish was flavorful and well-prepared. One great tip: they offer a monthly Sunday buffet, but you need to make a reservation. Highly recommend giving it a try! This place is not a restaurant with best ambiance but still really good. A hidden gem.

Love their bowls so much!! It's so much food, I actually can't finish a full bowl. Good thing my husband finishes his and mine so I don't feel bad and wasteful. The okhotsk don bowl is so tasty and comes with so much variety of fishes. Fish has always been fresh and yummy and their rice is soooooo good.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Sushi Koto yet--maybe because I want to keep it a secret! Sushi Koto is one of my favorite spots for chirashi bowls, which are raw fish on top of sushi rice. I wish there were more chirashi bowl specific spots like this in LA. I've tried many of their bowls, and they are consistently amazing. On my last visit, I got the scallop chirashi. It had huge, delicious scallops and came with a small dessert and miso soup. The ladies working here are very nice whenever I come here. If this place wasn't an hour away, I'd be here more often. I'm a huge fan I really hope they stay open forever.

The menu is simple but the options they give are overwhelming. I want to get them all!! No matter what option you choose it will definitely be tasty and melt in your mouth softness. The bowls come out looking small, but are definitely filling for sure. Our favorite has to be uni!! The tempura is nicely fried and is our must appetizers. The complimentary dessert is small portions and a perfect way to finish off. Huge parking lot, and clean restrooms. This place used to be a drive for us so we would make an effort to visit this place everytime my bf has dentist appt in the area. Haha

What can I say - all the reviews were right! The chirashi was outstanding and worth driving from a different city for. The fish is so high quality and tastes amazing, even the uni doesn't have that fishy aftertaste because it's so fresh. The portions are so generous for the price and I love the family-owned small business vibes here. I got the Unibara don and I loved the variety of fish in it. It also came with bamboo! Very filling for one person. Loved that they show baseball games on their TVs

This spot was recommended to me by a good friend and it did not disappoint. Their sashimi is fresh and you really can't find something that beats this price in OC. I can't say much about any other items on their menu because I've only tried the chirashi bowl or bento here. The servers are attentive and there's plenty of shared parking is this big plaza.

Sushi Koto offers a large variety of sushi bowls at reasonable prices. I usually opt for the chiraishi bowls which has the usual assortment of sashimi. The fish is fresh but the portions are petite. That's a general theme at Sushi Koto. The portions are more traditional sizing, not the upsize in today's world. There is really no ambiance to speak off. It's a pretty generic setting for any casual eatery. The service was prompt. Anything you need to brought promptly. If you're in the mood for a sushi bowl, give Koto a try.

Back here for their chirashi bowl!! Food is still as good as I remember, service a little slow but fish quality is great! And price is not bad! It's a very old school Japanese restaurant but very authentic. It is one of my fav, Japanese places to eat in OC!

Made a reso through google about a week before valentines day with no issue. this is our first time dining here. we arrived on time to our reso, and was seated in about 10 mins. the restaurant was full, but no lines out the door anything. there were many rice bowl options, and it all sounded so good. it was hard to choose! we ended up getting the chef's special (omakase but with all the sushi on the platter), and the chirashi dinner bowl. i don't know of if it was because it was valentine's day, but it took a really long time for us to get our food-- about 30 minutes. i felt like that was really long for some sushi and rice bowls. the service was good, waitresses were friendly. the rice all around was sooo delicious. the flavor and the texture. don't get me wrong, i love rice but i typically don't really care for it; but it was so flavorful here. the fish were all really fresh. my boyfriend tried some unagi that was in our chirashi bowl. he loved it so much he ordered a separate unagi bowl (which honestly was overkill), but delicious. definitely plan to come back to try all the other bowls. oh, they're very proud of Ohtani here! they've got a bowl named after him and his photos around the restaurant.

What a delightful surprise! My husband and I choose this restaurant for our Valentines Day date since it seemed to be lowkey and not super fancy. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of their food, the great service, and affordable pricing. The decor was super cute because there was photos of Shohei Ohtani everywhere. I loved that the chefs were wearing Dodgers hats. Super adorable. The staff were all Japanese so the service was very polite and welcoming. The chirashi bowls were a winner in my book. The fish tasted so fresh and left me pretty full! The prices were very good for OC. I will definitely come back again.
